About Apta – Pharmacy Employers’ Association in Finland
The Pharmacy Employers’ Association Apta answers for the labor market functions of Finnish pharmacies. Its members include nearly all of Finland’s approximately 630 private pharmacies, as well as the university-owned pharmacies Yliopiston Apteekki and Itä-Suomen yliopiston apteekki. The industry field employs approximately 8,500 employees nationwide.
Apta negotiates two collective labor agreements including wage provisions, those of pharmaceutical personnel and of other pharmacy personnel, together with the wage earners’ representatives Finnish Pharmacists’ Association SFL and Service Union United PAM.
Apta offers its member pharmacies versatile specialist services, especially in the area of labor relations: counseling, courses and training, as well as various materials and guides. Members also enjoy benefits offered by Apta’s partners.
Apta is an association member of Yhteinen Toimialaliitto YTL. Due to this, Apta’s member companies are also members of Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK). Apta is represented in EK’s Entrepreneurial Delegation and several other committees.
Apta has answered for the Finnish pharmacies’ promotion of interests in labor market issues since 1973.
